A spectacle blind flange is a safety device used to either fully allow or completely isolate flow in a piping system. It consists of two metal discs attached by a small section of metal — one disc is solid (blind) and the other has a bore (open). It is manually rotated between open and closed positions during maintenance or system isolation, commonly used in refineries, chemical plants, and energy facilities.
